The death of his father was followed by more trouble for the Conway family. Beezy's mother lost her job soon after his dad's death, plunging the family into serious financial problems. On Sunday, October 14, 2018, things got very real for Yella Beezy. At approximately 3:30 a.m. on the Sam Rayburn Tollway in Lewisville, Texas, he was shot during a drive-by. According to the police report, there were over a dozen shots fired at his car and Beezy was shot several times, leaving him in critical condition.

Reports state that a person in a car pulled up beside the car Beezy was driving and opened fire on it. When the 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards aired, he was forced to watch his performance of "That's on Me" from his hospital bed.

After the October 2018 shooting, Yella Beezy posted photos of his gorgeous white Mercedes-Benz G-Class that he was driving that night. Riddled with bullet holes, the car tells the real truth of the shooting incident. When you look at the placement of the holes in the driver's position, it is a wonder Beezy survived the shooting.

A House Fit for a Rap Star
