In the end, Miami won out over Nebraska, Oklahoma, Michigan, Colorado State, San Diego State, and Louisiana State. He racked up 24 tackles, defended three passes, and made 2.5 sacks in his first season with the Hurricanes. In 2006, Campbell was chosen first team All-ACC.

Campbell's professional career began in 2008, when he was chosen in the second round of the draft by the Arizona Cardinals. During his career, he has made a total of 696 tackles, 88 sacks, and 48 pass deflections.

Among Campbell's professional achievements are the 2017 PFWA NFL Defensive Player of the Year, 2019 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, and 2019 Bart Starr Award.
