Will Ferrell's Wife (Viveca Paulin) | How Creepy Turned Into Romance

Who is that attractive blonde woman standing next to Will Ferrell in so many photos? She's his wife, Viveca Paulin!

Viveca was born April 24, 1969, in Askim, Gothenburg Municipality, Sweden. She emigrated to the United States to pursue acting, and graduated from Pomona College in 1991. She relocated to Los Angeles, where she eventually met her future husband.

And she and Will have such a sweet story! The pair met in 1995 in Los Angeles in an acting class. There was an instant connection, and the two began dating. In a twist of fate that was both bad and good, they broke up when Will landed a role with Saturday Night Live, which meant he had to move to New York City. The two never forgot about each other, though.

Meanwhile, Viveca scored a few roles in movies like Money Talks and A Night at the Roxbury. That last film allowed her and Will to reconnect. When Saturday Night Live went on hiatus in 2000, the couple resumed their romantic relationship. On one memorable date, Will took her to a beach where they'd had one of their first dates. Viveca, unaware of what Will had planned, found the nighttime shore "creepy." But creepy soon turned to romantic when Will got on one knee and proposed! Of course she said yes, and they married soon after.

They've been together ever since, and have three sons: Magnus, 14; Mattias, 11; and Axel, 8. You can briefly see all three of them in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. They also attend various art events and galas with their parents, and both Will and Viveca look extremely proud of all three of them.

Shortly after their marriage, Viveca pulled back on acting to focus on a second career... as an art auctioneer! She's previously worked for Bonhams, and currently works at Los Angeles Modern Auctions, selling 20th century modern art & design. She's sold pieces by Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, and other mid-century artists. Both of her careers dovetailed quite nicely when she did the voice acting for the auctioneer in Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Currently, Viveca and her family divide their time between Orange County and New York City. She and Will became co-investors in Los Angeles FC, a Major League Soccer team which took home the Western Conference trophy in 2019. Viveca also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She and her husband support various other Los Angeles museums, including the Hammer Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art, and MAK Center.

And there's more! Over the course of their marriage, Viveca introduced her husband to Eurovision, an international song competition featuring flashy, over-the-top performances of hit songs. The contest inspired Will to produce his own movie, and EUROVISION SONG CONTEST: The Story of Fire Saga, starring Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams, is now out on Netflix!
