Calista went to high school in New Jersey and attended Glassboro State College. Glassboro wasn't a good fit for the performer so she attended the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in New Jersey where she met Ally McBeal co-star Jane Krakowski.

Flockhart's acting talent was noticed when her theatre professor allowed her to perform with the older students in William Inge's play Picnic.made an exception to policy by allowing Flockhart to perform on the main stage. Rutgers honored her by admitting her to the Hall of Distinguished Alumni in 2003.

After receiving her Bachelor's Degree, Calista moved to New York City to pursue her dream of being a famous actress. To support herself she worked hard as an aerobics instructor and as a member of the wait staff at several New York restaurants

Calista has been Harrison Ford's partner since they met in 2002 at the Golden Globes Awards. They were married in June of 2010 in New Mexico. It was a small, private wedding. The happy couple has an adopted son to complete their happy family.
