Celebrities That Were Poor & Homeless But Moved From Rags to Riches

Before they were millionaires, a lot of celebrities had nothing. In fact, the joke that famous people have to sell their soul is not always that far off. While they may not all sell their souls, many give up everything they own – including their homes – to make it big. Here are some celebrities that were poor and homeless before their big break.
Chris Pratt - Net Worth $60 million

Chris had a good friend give him a one-way ticket to Maui when he was just 19 years old. He took that ticket and lived in a flea-infested van until he served Rae Dawn Chong at a restaurant and she cast him in the film she was directing on the island.
Sylvester Stallone - Net Worth $400 million

Before getting a major studio to buy his script for Rocky, Stallone was flat broke and living on the street. He was forced to sell his only friend and companion, his dog, for $50. Later after he sold his script, Stallone is said to have gone back for his dog. Hopefully he paid a bit more, given his much-improved financial situation.
Jim Carrey - Net Worth $180 million

Jim Carrey often accredits his sense of living to his rough childhood. When the comedian was in high school, he dropped out of school and moved into a VW bus with his family. Eventually they downgraded further to a tent on the lawn of his big sister's house.
