Morfydd was born in Sweden, but relocated to Wales when she was two years old. Her father works in software security and her mother is a pediatrician. She's a bit cagey about her actual age, and won't even reveal her birthday. Some journalists estimate she's about 30 years old.

School was difficult for young Morfydd, who was diagnosed with both dyslexia and ADHD as a child. She left the Kings Monkton grade school at age 16 to pursue a career in stage acting, and trained briefly at the Drama Center London.

After leaving school, Morfydd appeared onstage in "According to Brian Haw," produced by British Youth Music Theatre. After completing her training at Drama Center London, she played the lead role in Saunders Lewis' Blodeuwedd, produced by Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, a Welsh theatrical company.

After a few more stage roles, Morfydd moved to film and television in 2014. Along with her role in the short film Two Missing, she was quite busy that year! She played Camille in Madame Bovary, Amelia in the TV miniseries New Worlds, and Nancy Wickwire in the TV movie A Poet in New York.

You'll probably recognize her as Georgiana Darcy in 2016's Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Sister Clara in HBO's His Dark Materials, or Mina Harker in Steven Moffat's Dracula. She also played the titular character Maud in 2020's Saint Maud. Judging by these roles, Morfydd enjoys roles with creepy, psychological horror overtones.
