Meghan Thee Stallion's Hot Girl October: New EP and Hot Sauce Explained

She conquered social media with her freestyle rap videos, garnered critical acclaim with her debut studio album Good News, and topped the Billboard charts alongside legends Cardi B and Beyoncé, but now Megan Thee Stallion is dropping her hottest project yet — actual hot sauce.

The award-winning rapper is turning hot girl summer into fiery girl fall thanks to a partnership with famed chicken spot Popeyes. Megan Thee Stallion, born Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, has created a signature sauce made with honey, cider vinegar, and Aleppo pepper. Popeyes describes the sauce as having a “sweet, yet bold flavor with a hint of spice, inspired by Megan’s sassy personality.”

But there’s more to the finger-lickin’ launch than meets the eye. The Texas-born rapper’s Popeyes partnership will also include a six-figure donation to Houston Random Acts of Kindness. A release announcing the donation said the money will help support the organization’s mission “to promote empathy and compassion while encouraging selfless concern for the welfare of others in the Houston community.”

It’s not the first link between Megan and the chicken chain —the Grammy Awards Best New Artist winner is also a Popeyes franchise owner. Explaining the motivation behind the collab, Megan said, “I’m appreciative of Popeye’s commitment to empowering Black women and look forward to opening Popeyes Restaurants. Teaming up with Popeyes is such a milestone in my journey and evolution as an entrepreneur. I’ve always been a fan of the Popeyes brand and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to join the brand and help create the new Megan Thee Stallion Hottie Sauce for their line-up.”

Fans can grab servings of the sauce at their local Popeyes either as part of the fast food joint’s famous chicken sandwich or on the side to use when dunking those tasty Popeyes nuggets. Diners who have already gotten their hands on the Hottie Sauce say it’s sweet with a delayed hit of heat. In other words, two thumbs up!

Popeyes’ reps say their Hottie Sauce is a limited-time-only item, meaning it won’t be around forever. Anyone who wants to bring home some Megan Thee Stallion spice should stock up now.

Meanwhile, Megan just announced another new project, this time a surprise release of freestyle raps called Something for Thee Hotties. The first track to hit social media, “Megan Monday Freestyle,” is not even two minutes long, but still manages to showcase the mega-star’s signature sense of humor and lyrical skills. Lines like “Damn I must be Olivia Pope ‘cause y’all keep puttin’ me in all of these scandals” bring in elements of pop culture and there’s a quick cameo from Juicy J, too.

Sounds like the perfect soundtrack for a Popeyes picnic!
